Despite my best efforts following the illustration in the manual, I was unable to do anything other than fumbling aimlessly in a small hole with a screwdriver.

Has anybody managed to do this successfully?

Thanks

It is difficult if you have never done it before. When you manage to do it the first time you sort of "get the knack".

You need to move the screwdriver up/down to release the catch whilst at the same time (i can't spell Normal 0 false false false EN-GB X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4

simultaneous) pulling the pole outwards. Once released, only pull a few mm as you then need to do the same at the top/bottom. Once both clips are released, the poles have to be extracted at right angle to the set otherwise they get stuck.

It's not that easy to explain but as I said once you've done it once it seems easier.

Good luck.

Just an illustration to go with Opman's recommendation:

Thanks guys! Yep I've got that picture. In the end I just left it and cut two slots in the box so it could close around the stand et voila, I pulled the TV out at the destination and the stand was already installed.
