Can 'little birdy' make a drawing of the A2?
I suppose 'little birdy' can't provide a photo yet!
MM
There is a tv - and there is a BV
They'd better hurry up a bit - was announced for october!
Let's ask the sheep.
Maybe they know something as well
Or the snails
Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.

Maybe not the final design, judge for yourself...
Little off-topic. I think Bose had the Beolit 12 in mind when designing the Bose SoundLink 3, what do you think?
Just wonder what will be a differentiator from Beolit 12?
Seems that the box is bluetooth-only?
Or is the document just about the BT part of it?
I don't need it either - where/when can I buy it
An iPad soundbar
Reminds me of a router.
but might be perfect for my small bathroom, or when I am travelling. Hopefully will come in differnt colours
Definitely a 'bluetooth-only' device - with a jack line-in.

And another ugly Beoplay design... :-( Oh dear, whish David Lewis is still alive.
What would he have done different?
Could you specify that a bit, please
'Who want yesterdays paper, who want yesterdays girl? Nobody in the world!
Come on - it is history (and a good one).
I must admit, that it is not the most inspiring design - but how should this kind of device look, if not so?
Just asking
I remember the 1st photos from Beloit 12 were not attractive / appealing and the final device looked much better in flesh. I hope that it will be the same for this one.
In this age where people buy stuff on line and discover the materials and execution are rubbish when the product arrives in the post you can guarantee this will be good in reality . Like the other B&O play products .
Beo Century ,Beoplay V1, Beocenter 6, Ex-Beolit 12, Beotime , A8. Beolit 15 , Form 2i , Beolab 2000, Beoplay A3.Beosound 1
What I still don't understand is how to use / place it as it seems to have speakers to the front and to the rear. Does it need to be placed 90° from the wall? Is it stereo or a kind of enhanced surrounding sound?
Are the faces covered with a fabric like the Beoplay A9?

Probably it has an aluminium grill/front - or rather two - like some of the Automotive speakers.
And probably in different colours - would be silly not to give people a choice of colour.
If stereo or double mono - no infos yet.
But it is a device to carry with you - not that much for stationary use.
Probably looking better/ok in the flesh - we'll see.
And probably better quality than most of the competitors.
I don't expect wonders from it soundwise.
And will take it for what it is - or leave it in the shop!
I'm thinking it's a good thing I haven't sprung for a Beolit 12 yet, this looks like it might well meet my needs better in a smaller, more portable package. I wouldn't mind a portable move around the house speaker for by the hot tub, downstairs when doing laundry, etc. to get sound into rooms that aren't Beolinked. Say, bathroom when bathing/shaving and such.
I might well end up with one. Price is right too if performance is decent, and given B&O I expect it to be.

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.
I have the Bose equivalent and will also buy this one. Really hope for AirPlay though...
Honestly, when I saw the above it reminded me of the Netgear routers:

Hopefully the A2 will not be plasticky and creaky like the router.

Please do read the User Guide/Quick Install Guide!
Airplay is tricky these days since apple has not released a 5ghz wifi chipset for 3rd parties.
That makes networking a apin and was one hell nthe reasons i skipped the essence.
bluetooth ahould be fine for most, but what i dont like is that it seems you need a non USB power supply. That means ine must carry a brick when travel.
also no line out so it can be used as a receiver for an existing stereo system.
Bluetooth is not good enough - for home use!
But for a device, that is meant for travelling etc it is the only possible reliable way of transferring sound wirelessly.
Some day - maybe - a peer to peer AirPlay solution will be avaiable (which then again would not work for Android devices).
Every portable device need some kind of power supply - unlesss it would have some kind of solar cel solution built-in☀️
If you have something usb based you can share among devices.
no need in most cases for custom power supplies these days.

Beoworld app with direct photo upload and emoticons.
The peer to peer seems to be only working for apple tv, so not generic airplay devices.
I think they connect via bluetooth and then use wifi ... Must be a late miodel apple tv too so sound only airplay devices are out of luck.
for travelling bluetooth is prob the best choice since android devices can connect too and airplay chipset is expensive.
not sure why dealers think this is the bets beoplay device yet.
maybe it can be part of they multi room solution, or maybe cost is low. There is only so much you can do with sound from a small speaker so .....
PhilLondon: The latest AirPlay specs allow peer to peer. Apple TV now supports it, I read. I don't know if firmware updates will be available for beoplay devices.

For AirPlay devices (not the ATV) we probably must await new chips with P-to-P AirPlay support.
When they will be available, no one knows.
Bluetooth is (even with less AQ) the best solution for a portable device at the moment.
Edit - I wonder why noone has asked the question about aptX support for the Bluetooth connection 🎵
Is the A2 bluetooth 4 + APTX compatible?
