Hello, I wish to make up a cable to connect my Beolab 3500 to a pre-wired wall-plate.  Does anybody have a diagram to show the correct wiring points for a plug to plug cable. It must be MCL and NOT ML. Many thanks.

How about these diagrams? http://www.beoworld.org/beotech/wiring1.htm

I thank you for your response. I am aware of these diagrams, but my question is; do I follow the description as in diagram 3 and replace the strip connector with another plug? Do I wire the pins no.1 to no.1, no.4 to no.4 and so on,  or does no.1 go to pin no.3, no.4 to no.5  & so on? Parallel or crossover?

Hi again and sorry for the slow response - for some reason explorer kept 'hanging' when I opened the Beotech page to check the diagrams.

Instinctively I would say wire the cable in parallel, 1 to 1, 4 to 4 etc - otherwise the data and ground would be reversed and could not work.  However, as long as the continuity is correct at the point where the MCL extension enters the Beomaster speaker sockets, then in truth it doesn't really matter!  Alternatively (as pin 8 is not needed) just use an Audio Aux cable and see what happens.

Perhaps Steve at Sounds Heavenly could give some guidance?

Hi and thanks for your reply. I too had convinced myself that parallel was the way to go but called on the services of the aforementioned Steve. I chickened out from making up my own cable and, on his advice,  purchased a fully wired MK2 Powerlink cable from his store. Voila, arrived this very morn. The speaker is now giving an unnecessary amount of loudness in my bathroom. Again many thanks, Geoff.

Great news - and no surprise that Steve was able to help out!
