I have my Beosystem 5500 connected with Beovox Penta´s.

I can hear a humming or distortion sound from the speakers. Is there a part I can change to fix this?

Has it always done this or is it a newly developed problem?

Can you connect the Pentas to another source?  If the humming stops, it's a part of the BS5500.  Is it an Earth hum?  Can you try new cables?  Are the cables connected 'in-phase' properly to the speakers?

Dave.

IO have had the pentad connected to a icpower-amplifier. Then there is no hum. So it is definitely the BM5500 that has the hum.

When i turn the volume up from 00 to 30, it gets higher an higher, at 32 it drops down, and from 32-50 it gets higher, and at 52 it drops down really low.

I would say that it sounds like an earth hum, yes..

Replace electrolytic capacitors in the power supply.
There are about a handful smaller caps near the voltage regulators, 10uF and 22uF, they are
known to give this kind of trouble.

Do I just change them by desolering and resoldering new ones? Or do I need to do any adjustment to voltage or something?

No adjustments needed if you just replace the capacitors.
Get the polarities right.

Would you happen to have a kit ready for sale, Martin?

I´d rather pay the extra to know that I am getting the right types, than to open it op to check them first :P

Thanks but there's not a dedicated kit for this.
It's merely a couple of small caps, available everywhere.
