Devialet - Made in France
Looks shiney and by all accounts has some good features but the price is huge!:

Any feedback from Geoff on the technology and claims would be interesting.
Dave.
Hi BeoBoy68.
I assume that, despite the laughing smily face, that your question is sincere. I also assume that, in spite of your "thumbs up" you don't believe that everything made in France is good (as the part-owner of a car with a "Made In France" stamp on it somewhere, I might take issue with such an opinion...).
To be honest, I had never heard of either SAM or the ADH "technologies" until I saw the video to which you linked. So, I watched that, and I went to the home page to see if they say more about the concept on their main site.
Having seen both of those, I can say that you should not believe everything you're told in that YouTube video.(Actually, I can probably generalise that statement to read "you should not believe everything you're told in a YouTube video except this one".) There are many sweeping statements and claims made in the voiceover of that video that would not stand up in a court of law. (Class A amplifiers, for example, are not inherently perfect, and Class D amplifiers do not inherently distort everything.) However, it's marketing, and that means that there is substantial poetic license expected - or at least tolerated.
If you look at the block diagram of the SAM concept at this page you'll see that it doesn't provide a lot of information about what it actually does. It appears to do some kind of processing that is probably based on the reciprocal of some kind of model (or, more likely a measurement) of the loudspeakers. However, this can mean many, many things. At the simplest level, it might just be a kind of equaliser that is derived from an on-axis measurement. If it's more complicated than that, it could be any host of a multitude of things.
However, the real answer is that, since I don't know what it is and I've never heard its effects, I can't have an opinion about it. But I would certainly advise to not trust everything that you hear in an advertisement.
If you want any opinions about which kind of car to buy (or at least a recommendation about its country of origin), you'll have to ask me in private.
Cheers

I've noticed that a fair number of people, in their complaints about B&O vs. some other "high end" brand, whether it be DACs, driver technology, whatever, seem far far too credulous regarding marketing claims. One thing I've found refreshing about B&O, no gobbledegook about technology in the large part, marketing claims are on style and sound quality.
I've been around this so long that most marketing claims make my Spidey sense tingle and the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Notice I said back of the neck, the ones on top of my head abandoned ship long ago.

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.
Hi Geoff,
Thanks for your answer.
I am happy that I discover you the AHD and SAM technologies from Devialet.
I am agree that this video is an Ad and words used are not completely neutral.
I think that AHD and SAM are innovative technologies like B&O did with Ice power - 14th years ago.
Devialet is a serious Hi-Fi premium brand for meloman. Components sound fantastic for music lovers !
I am allways waiting for listening a B&O audio system in my Audi A1 and not just in luxury models !
