Bang & Olufsen is planning to release a revised version of the Beolit 12 under the Beoplay brand. This device will be called Beolit 15 and will work with Bluetooth 4.0?, assumming this will replace Wifi. The design is likely to remain unchanged, mayby more or different colors will be introduced...

I think this is a good move from B&O, having in mind people on the forum here reporting problems with wifi-dropouts with the current Beolit 12.

Thats interesting because only a couple of months ago I purchased a BL12.  I asked the dealer if there was going to be a replacement for the BL12 in the immediate term and he said no.

I love the BL12, but this is true it's a move in the right direction.

The thing I love over the A2 over the BL12 is the fact that it connects to your phone very quickly, however, you can't use the iPhone lightning to USB in the A2 in the same way you can with the BL12.  In the BL12 it plays music and with the A2 it just charges and you still play via BT.

It would be good if it had a party streaming mode.

it does make sense as the design and speaker performance is good.

I wonder if there will be any offers to the early 12 adopters .....

we tend to forget there is more to design than designing.

Mines up for sale as it's never really worked, and it's been replaced by the utterly reliable Bluetooth A2.

It's a shame as pound for pound it punches well above its weight. Recently I've purchased yet another router to drive my A9 with, but after spending nearly £2,000......no*h*ng *uch h**pens re**ably. B&O are clearly aware of this hence the Bluetooth adoptionSuper AngrySuper AngrySuper Angry

Too bad that they left out Wifi/AirPlay.... OR they're still waiting for the new Airplay specifications which allows direct streaming to the device

The new Beolit 15 use same Bluetooth 4.0 like the BeoPlay A2.

I am excited to compare the sound between BeoLit 12 and BeoLit 15. Stick out tongue

I suppose it will sound exactly the same.

I do like the fact that they moved the usb and jack sockets to the back. It leaves the sides much cleaner. The Beolit 12 has only 2 nice sides, the Beolit 15 has three!

An upgrade offer would be nice, but what will they do with the unsellable Beolit 12s? Anyway, the offer would have to be really good. Apart from the occasional dropout, I'm happy with mine. It would allow the android phones to connect wirelessly as well though.

Peer-to-peer AirPlay uses bluetooth to establish the connection, the streaming afterwards is a wifi function.

It is still unknown, if there will be a 'sound-only' version of that technology - at the moment it is mainly used for easy presentations from a Mac to an AppleTV, when there is no accesss to the local network. Never heard of any tests with streaming sound, yet.

I would wish for it to come. But the longer they/Apple wait (if it should come), the more people have gotten used to the (lossy) streaming through bluetooth, I fear.

If the BeoLit 15 will sound different than the 12, only time will tell.

Maybe it will sound 'good enough' for most people Embarrassed

Anway - with bluetooth streaming more people are in the boat.

No excuse for the Android users for not buying a BeoLit 15 anymore Smile

What will be the next move? The BV's getting bluetooth connection instead of a network port/WiFi Crying

Personally I would prefer both versions (12/15) in the line-up - but that will probably not be the case.

Glad to see the revival of the bluetooth techno. I always thought it was not used enough actually.

It is very cheap to produce, higher range.

I believe that this is the beginning of the end for this greedy little apple.

B&O has made the perfect choice. Thanks

There is no other way to stream to a device, that is intended to be a mobile device, than bluetooth.

So - @olvisab - please don't overreact!

I've been reading about apt-x on Bluetooth, has anyone come across this and does it give a superior sound quality ?

Manual and pictures aren't available anymore.

Did anyone save them? I'm wondering what it looks like.

looked like the BeoLit 12 apart from the Bluetooth symbol on the top connection button... which is a good thing as there was nothing wrong with the design
