i have just bought some bedlam 6000 that work fine with my overture but I can't get any sound out of them when connected to my beo vision 10.
i have set them up in a link but I can only get a humming notice and can't seem to get any sound from the to at all...
does it it matter which power link socket I use?
please help, heading overseas in 48 hrs and want to get these working for the family!
first post, go gentle!
Hi Trevor and welcome to Beoworld,
You can find the 'userguide' on the B&O webpage:
http://www.bang-olufsen.com/da/customer-service/product-support/picture/beovision-10
Please see page 21 and the following pages.
You will have to configure the PL output/s, before you can get sound from your speakers.
Do return with further questions, if you don't succeed.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
Page 20 for speaker type.
Dave.
Hi guys and thank you for the seriously rapid reply.
i have added the speaker type as Beolab 6000 and tried the power link cable in all the different ports and still no joy
confused? Very!
i removed the power link cable from the to, replaced it in my overture and hey presto sound, but nothing when back in the beo10
I'm confused too.
OK, press list on your BEO4 until you see 'SOUND'. If you haven't got 'SOUND' on your list, you need to add it by pressing the 'red button' and 'list' at the same time and you should see 'ADD?'. If it says something else, press the 'list' button until it says 'ADD?'. Press the large 'OK/GO' button and scroll through with the up and down arrows until you get 'SOUND'. Press 'Go/OK'. Now it should be on your BEO4 menu list when you press the 'list' button.
Now, with the TV on, try pressing 'LIST' until you see 'SOUND' on the BEO4 display. Now press the 'GO/OK' button to scroll through the sound types.
This is from the user manual and is not something I've needed to do so don't know what sound options will be available on the BV10.
If that does nothing. Try pressing 'LIST' on your BEO4 until you see 'SPEAKER'. Now try pressing 1, or 2, to see if it activates the speakers.
In the TV set-up option, so BEO4, 'menu' and then chose 'options' on the TV screen, if you highlight 'sound' and press the centre 'GO/OK' button, you should see 'speaker type'. switch between the left and right arrows to select 'yes' or no' for the front speakers and sub woofer. The front will have to say yes for it to know it has speakers connected - even though you've already said BL6000's in a different menu - I hope! The up and down arrows allow you to select the speaker type which is what I think you may have done already, but maybe the front speaker 'yes/no' has not been set with the left and right arrow option? It may say 'no' so won't send the signals to the speakers. Don't forget to press the centre 'GO/OK' button to store the settings.
Ok. I give up.
i am unable to add sound, but do have speaker on my Beo4 and have tried speaker 1 & 2 with no difference. I have tried to turn the to off at the mains to make the tv recognise the speakers Andy his has made no difference.
i am unable to work the yes/no option to authorise the speaker as the left right just scrolls through the different speaker types.
spoken to my local B&O store and they are as confused as me
Why could you not add 'sound' in the ADD? option on the BEO4? Was it not there or could you just not do the procedure?
Under the BL6000's, are they set to L and R and not LINE? I assume so as it works with the BS.
I don't understand why the 'yes/no' option onscreen isn't there. It's clear in the user manual.
As a last resort, I would contact Matt or Lee at Lifestyle AV and ask them. I had to do this when I installed a BL7.4 with a BV7_32 as the B&O directions were basically incomplete. They had it up and running with me over the phone no problem. They are very knowledgable about the latest TV's - possibly more than your dealer!

Lifestyle AV are geniuses! Thanks Matt!!
Please tell us what the issue was so we can help others. i.e how did you fix it?
I'd be interested in hearing that too!
It was pretty straight forward really once Matt had guided me through the process.
basically my base settings and menus were a bit of a mess due to the system being attached to an audio system previously!
reset the speaker type and subwoofer option then took it from step one:
name speaker : Beolab 6000
remove rear speaker selection and subwoofer
turn to to standby, then turn back on and then using Beo4 select the correct speaker config and everything worked great!
thanks to everyone for their help!
Which is what you were already advised to do per the user manual. Ah well, got there in the end. Home your parents are pleased.
