Hi Guys
I hope everyone is keeping well?!! Its been a little while since I last posted, Bloody kids they always put a spanner in the works!!! But I still love them. Anyways back to topic. I have a bit of an unusual problem in that I can not get my Beo4 to work my Sky+ box??? I have quite a late model Avant 28" DVD RF I have installed the IR cable to the TV and placed the other end of the cable at almost directly in front of the IR sensor on the front of the box. Now when I select the for the connections it does come up with a list for STBs and I do select the Sky+ option but once I do that then I try and do something with my Beo4 to no avail, which as you can imagine being quite frustrating, I even thouht it might have something to do with the remote itself so I tried another Beo4 I have as a spare and that one is a DTV model one, but still nothing!!
So my question to you good fellows is; What am I doing wrong here, have I missed something? I would really like to get this feature working as I hate having to keeping jumping from one remote to the other. I had this set up before on my last Avant about 3 years ago, but I sold that Tv and I'm not entirely sure what happened to the STB. So P & Q in advance to all you wonderful and knowledgable gentlemen out there.

hi
when I had my sky hd box installed my dealer showed source as Thompson hd as sky hd did not work
works with my beo4 and beo6 might be the answer

One quick check you can do is to remove the IR emitter from the front of you sky box and point a digital camera or camera phone at the emitter whilst pressing a button on the beo4, the infrared is invisible to the naked eye but can be seen on the screen of the camera by doing this. It will at least tell you if you avant is sending a signal (in which case possibly the wrong one for the box concerned) or not.
Martin.
Guys I tried the Thompson hd solution, but no joy any other ideas guys?
