I've just bought a BL2 to go with my BV7_55 with BL8000 fronts and BL3's as rears.  Awesome boom - especially with music.  Movies are also excellent with it and it does make a huge difference - ground shaking in some cases!

Dave.

There are some advantages with using the BL2. Unlike the BL19, or just about any other manufacturers sub, the BL2 has a high pass and low pass crossover, so your other speakers will have the deep bass kept out of them, cleaning up their midbass and midrange. The BL19 only has a high pass filter if you use the wireless transmitter and add receivers to the main speakers, stand alone it only has a low pass, though it's adjustable. But in my experience doing this without a corresponding high pass makes getting the sub to integrate well with the sats difficult and it requires a lot of adjust, listen, adjust, listen, etc. that can almost turn into an endless loop. Especially if you don't have measurement equipment and have to do it by ear alone.

Jeff

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus. Sad

The Beolab 2 i owned really annoyed my loathsome neighbour, and could knock over Xmas cards metres away. Highly recommended.

Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.

I actually really enjoy the BL2 as well! It's so powerful. I've only used it for music and it's great fun when I want an almost club-like experience with some fun dance or pop music  ;)

I've been turning up my system to the full VOL 72 (on a crt AVANT) with BL4000s and BL2 and  being used to BL9 I have been extremely surprised at the sound accuracy. Eventually i can't hold my nerve and have to turn it down, lest my ears will distort before the speakers do!

I got the Beolab 14 sub a few months back and paired it with my bv11. It is awesome! And it it fits in great with the tv and living room since it doesn't look like a speaker/subwoofer.

The beolab s8 from beo-play is the same subwoofer.

It really is pretty amazing for the price point.

Today, even with 1000 euro, buy a BeoLab 2. Great purchase!

How does the BL14/S8 compare to the BL2?

It's clearly not as potent.

But the lab2 is REALLY strong.

Too much in most cases for most volumes.
