Hi folks,
Looking for which kind of lubricant could it be use to maintain or refresh the 4002.
Accordingly to the manual service the need for relubrication is negligible, but in case of overhauls and when replacing mechanical parts the directions below should be followed:
The pos. N° are referred to the the service manual scheme.
To the skillfulness person if you have any idea where we can buy some of these or use some other instead of...
For bearings, I now always use 'Liquid Bearings' which can be found on eBay and even on Amazon. It doesn't dry and is highly recommended for TT bearings. It is probably OK for numbers 1, 5, 6 and 7 as Castrol Everyman oil is just a light lubricating oil. Whatever you do, do not use WD40 or 3-in 1 oil.
The Molykote DX paste is just a Lithium based grease and can also in fact be purchased at most hardware stores or Amazon.
Rocol MTS1000 is still available: http://www.lawson-his.co.uk/rocol-12011-sapphire-hi-pressure-400gr-120-p1586. The ESSO NUTO is a hydraulic oil presumably used to thin the Rocol a bit.
I think with common sense, some of these can have alternatives - the Rocol is moly disulphide so alternatives abound. ESSO NUTO hydraulic oil could be substituted with a similar grade oil.
A BG 4002 doesn't operate at temps or pressures where most of these items are used in the car industry so substitution shouldn't be too big a deal.
