Looking at the top of this speaker is seems that Samsung has "borrowed" the accoustic lens principle for our friends in Struer...

We have had this before with another speaker recently.

The Samsung is a mono speaker - the purpose is to spread the highs 360-degree.

It might work fine in that case - and look like the B&O lens - but it has little to do with the Acoustic Lens Technology.

Using two of these (if possible) would surely damage the stereo perspective of any good recording.

Pure gimmick and show - don't let it fool you.

Nothing new, there's been a long history from the beginning of hifi for pseudo omnidirectional speakers. Even B&O had those omni tweeter things way before even the "cubes."

This page covers the history of a lot of this quite well, it's by Roger Russell, former head of speaker design for McIntosh. It's also a great place for general audio info and especially McIntosh history. I used to live near Roger, who is both extremely knowledgeable and also one of the nicest gentlemen you could hope to meet.
