I am planning on running a Masterlink cable from my main room with Avant and Beosystem 7000 into my home office where I have a Beovision 3. I would like to be able to listen to audio on my Beovision 3's loudspeakers. I read from the manual, that when two TVs are on the same ML system, one needs to be set as "master" and the other one needs to be set as "slave", i.e. mode 6. Is that correct, even though I am not necessarily planning on linking the TVs video? If I do link the TVs video, would it still possible to view a different channel or local source on my linked TV?

Yes Brian, that's correct. And it's not necessairy to link video, masterlink cable for audio will be enough. But check if your LINK-TV Beovision 3 accepts V.OPT=6.
