I have just replaced the CD mech on a BC9500 and it was working fine.  However, I've now just tried it again and the Beocenter won't start up and just displays the word 'COde'  for about 30 seconds then reverts to stand by.  This is an early model 9500 (1992) and I think it's well before the introduction of PIN codes.  In any case, the unit was in a box for months and powered up fine first time without needing to enter a code.  The CD has unit has been changed once before and again, never came up with any prompts.  Has anyone ever seen this display on the 9500, what does it mean.  Is it an error code or is it a prompt to enter a PIN type code?????   Absolutely stumped!

For problems like this, the 'search this site' function is quite useful.
