I have a Beolab 3500 (early version) and a Beolink PC2 that are not seeing much use.

Would it work to connect it the following way:

-Beolab 3500 masterlinked to the Beolink PC2

-Airport express line-cable to the audio in on the Beolink PC2

What I am thinking is that if I choose N.music (phono) on the Beolab 3500, it should receive the audio signal coming from the airport express.

Or will the Beolink PC2 not passthrough the signal if there is no USB attached? (the USB should only be for controlling n.music from MAC/PC)

You need a PC/Mac to run your BeoLink PC2 (which is a BeoPort, when it gets updated).

A better option would be to get a BL Converter (the old one) and use the Aux-port of that.

Ok.

Is it possible to run a signal into the MCL-connection instead?

Or is the 1611-converter the only option?

The converter acts as an ML-driver.

Normally you would connect the Aux from an older BeoMaster/System to it, but you can use the Aux-in for any sound signal.

This has been discussed several times on the forum.

Copy/paste this:

What do you mean with: MCL-connection?

Mine is actually a LCS9000. So it has both ML and MCL connections on the back.

So shouldn't it be possible to run an aux-feed to the MCL-connector on the back?

The MCL was used to connect it to the tv/aux on the BM5500 at least.

I don't know that!

But I suppose it needs something to turn it on - a trigger in the Aux?

Why not just try it - and tell us, if it works Stick out tongue

The BL3500 turns on by remote, and I am guessing that pressing TV would make it accept the incoming source.

I need a MCL-cable, because I am not willing to cut mine in half to see if it works. I need it for my BM5500. Anyone willing to donate one for testing?

From what I can see, the MCL can accept a regular line-input/or ampålified signal?

The MCL socket needs an amplified signal. By modifying the BL3500 you could use as an active speaker with powerlink (attached to your ML active or PC Link2.

I wonder what kind of converting is going on inside. I believe it is just cables being connected.
