A friends Beovision 5 has short blue lines tha jump around on screen.  Anyone know if this is likely a problem in the plasma screen or a problem in TV chassis?

Sometimes the problem deminishes the longer the TV is on. But also after awhile the Screen goes black.

I would guess this is a plasma fault given the age of these TVs now and a sign that it is on its way out. Sometimes very thin blue lines appear at the very top of the screen and this is down to format and broadcasting on some channels, but a black screen points to a plasma fault in the making to me.

B&O products are V1-32, BS2, H95, E8 and an Essence remote.
11-46 now replaced with Sony A90J 65”, Sony HT-A9, Sony UBP-X800M2 and Sony SRS-NS7.

Google Panasonic plasma faults and you will suddenly question the reliability of these panels! Not easy to determine whether it's a panel or module fault, although the latter may be more likely.

My BV5 produced a strange display of rectangles a couple of years ago, but then went back to working normally.
