I recently bought an Harmony to control my B&O products. Beovision10 works good. Beosound 5 is connected via masterlink to Beovision. Beosound is not working via Harmony. What is the setup connection to choose in the menu? Beosound 5 via Beovision not working.

I don't know, but wanted to share my experience with Harmony. A few years ago, I used one of their remotes with an AV7000 that was linked to an audiomaster, my BS9000. Back then most of their stock choose this options didn't work, and I worked via email with one of their support techs who, over several back and forth exchanges, would send me a new file to try, and then take my feedback and modify things. Finally got it to work, so if you can't get it right do give them a shot at it, I was impressed by the support. Hopefully they haven't stopped that.

Sorry - choosing a Harmony remote over the native Beo4 to control a B&O setup Unsure

I hear that for the first time.

What are your reasons for doing so - I am quite curious!

There is a tv - and there is a BV

The Harmony Remotes are FAR and away more customizable out of the box than anything B&O has to offer (maybe save for the Beo5/6, I don't have experience with them). The user can map buttons, to his or her liking, rather than accepting B&O's decisions for button functions through PUC downloads.

I was a harmony One user before purchasing my current BV, but I'm also curious about the Harmony Ultimate... is it as responsive and effective with B&O products as it is with "regular" products?

I have Beo6, but allready 3 times screen fallout and replace in warently period. So I bought the Harmony Ultimate for backup. Also I connected some other brand to Beovision. Everytime I had to contact my dealer to update the puc in Beovision10. So expensive!!

I have a Harmony Ultimate with the control hub and IR blasters, I use it for my diverse product video setup (Panasonic TV, Motorola Cable Box, Oppo Bluray, Marantz receiver) and it works extremely well. The thing is very configurable, easy to program and alter without paying a dealer, and the app for he iPad is outstanding and free. I haven't used it for my B&O as it's a separate audio only setup, and the Beo4 works fine, but the Harmony is a well thought out piece of gear.

Solex, I think the way Logitech works is a direct IR response with the device. In your case, you likely have the Beosound 5 in option 0 as it is ML'd to your BV, which means the IR receiver for the Beosound 5 won't react to any signals sent from the Logitech harmony because the only active IR receiver is in your television.

I'm wondering if some creative option settings for your TV and Beosound 5 would make it all work, allowing you to hear audio which is connected to your television, but the beosound 5 reacting directly to the IR signals sent from the Harmony.

My Harmony Ultimate with hub and ir blasters also work perfect, except to control Beosound 5 via Beovision masterlink. I can control Beosound 5 as separate, but that is not an option for me. Also the app for mobile works perfect. I can control all via the app via wifi. The hub makes ir from wifi signals.

So in my opinion the Harmony Ultimate is perfect. I hope someone has the solution to connect the Harmony with Beosound5 via Beovision in masterlink connection.

On the Harmony hub are 2 ir blasters. One blaster I put in view of Beovision and the other blaster in view of Beosound5, but no response.

Jeff, I would seriously consider the Harmony Ultimate One if I knew it would work 100% with B&O. I just went to the logitech website and the only Beovisions/Beosounds listed were the Avant (8111), Beovision1, and Beovision 10, Beosound 8, 3, and 2. I don't know what 8111 means, maybe the old Avant.

I'm wondering if it is the same codebase for the newer products. Can the newer Harmony remotes LEARN? If they can learn commands, well, they are a compelling option to B&O's remotes.

Beosound5 is also listed. The Harmony has a learn button, but at the moment I am not sure if B&O remote can connect to Harmony remote via learn.

Beosound5 is also listed.

That's interesting. I only input "Beosound" and the Harmony Compatibility page, didn't result with Beosound 5. But searching for "Beosound 5" did. Weird.

The Harmony can learn IR commands from another remote, using the usual point the remote at the sensor, press button, and such. I've not had to do that with this one but did with my old one. B&O and Proton used to be the only two who used high frequency IR codes but even my old ones handled them. I've generally been pretty impressed with them. The fact the new one has a hub that sits in the cabinet kept me from having to cut a hole in the cabinet and/or mount one of those IR receiver/repeater setup eyes. I have one blaster in the cabinet, not needed really as the hub blasts quite strongly, and one just under my center channel speaker which talks quite well to the TV on the wall above it.

The app for the iOS and Android devices talks to the hub via wifi and/or bluetooth, not sure which as it supports both allegedly.

I bought the Harmony Ultimate with hub about a year ago. HATED IT. It never seemed to get the B&O quite right. I never use it.

I have connection now to Beosound5, but can only select CD and not Radio in activities. When I choose CD on beo4 what command does Beovision sent to Beosound via masterlink? I suggest CD, because I programmed CD in harmony activitie and it works. But when I set Radio in activities I also get CD playing.

Furthermore control of Beovision is good and also control of mediaplayer Dune HD is perfect. Via wifi also control over Beovision and Dune HD is perfect. So Harmony Ultimate is a cheap alternative for Beovision 10 and connecting other products. The app for control via tel and ipad is good.

Problem almost solved. The button RADIO is not in database Beosound 5. Button CD is in database and working perfect. So I asked Logitech support to add the button RADIO in the menu choise. Will see.

Furthermore absolute happy with Harmony Ultimate. Also controlling connected equipment via wifi works good and fast. So now possibility to control Beovision etc via the Harmony app on tablet and phone.
