Hi,
I have a rather "large" Masterlink Setup with a Beovision 7-55, BS5, Beosound 9000 and four Beolab 3500 linkspeakers in different rooms.
I have a lot of Junctionboxes were the Masterlink-cable is sliced and put together again in a junctionbox.
My question: Does all this "cut" in the Masterlink cable everywere affect the total soundquality in the speakers which are connected to the Masterlink?
Do you think I will "win" some audioquality if I put an "un-cut" cable (a cable with connections in both ends) between one of my Beosounds to my Beovision 7-55 (where the speakers are connected to), in order to get the best possible audio quality from this Beosound?. I know I will loose Link-room audio for that Besound that I "disconnect" from the ordinary link-cable which goes around the house.
I hope you understand my general question and hopefully have an answer to me.
Best RegardsMartin

I have, actually, also a bigger equipment and everything by master link and Junktionsboxen - I have no problems, feel the sound as good. But the CD sound digitally to the BL5 is the best according to my opinion

Hi Iceman,
Thank you for your respons. Have you tried to feed your BL5 digital from your Beosound 5 instead of your Beosound 9000?
I have tried that, and in one way I can feel a more clear and crystal sound than when the Beosound 9000 is feeding the LAB5 digital. But the sound overall from the Beosound 9000 is more smooth and not so harsh as from the Beosound 5.

I have not tried no this yet. BS9000 is an audiomaster and BS5 in the same room with me.
Hi Martin,
I have never experienced any loss of audio quality, when using juction boxes.
The installation must be done properly - of course!
The ML system seems to be very robust.
Untill recently I even had two junction boxes on the outside of my house.
Now removed - but just because I dont need the ML in that part of the house anymore.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
I agree with MM and Iceman. The audio signals within the masterlink system as distributed as balanced pairs so are pretty resistant to induced interference. Just make sure your joints are punched down firmly in the terminals and that they aren't under physical stress and you shouldn't have any issues.
On a related note, I've just received my order of several shielded RJ45 tees/splitters (RS stock number 349-3477) - they're perfect for joining three RJ45 powerlink or masterlink cables and at around 13GBP each they are considerably cheaper than the B&O equivalent.
Martin.
