So i got a Beosystem 3500 with, the Beomaster 3500, Beogram CD 3500, Beocord 3500 and a Beogram turntable 3500. When i go to use the jack plug on the Beomaster it plays through both the speakers and the headphones? What could this be caused by and what can i do to fix it? If there is any more information you need just ask! Thanks!

[EDIT] I also forgot the MUTE button on the Beomaster doesn't have any effect on the sound either?

Check if you heard a click sound from the cabinet if you press mute: if the relay doesn't click at all there is some problem with that circuit.

i don't recall if the BM3500 has 2 sets of speaker outlets, but if so: only set 1 will mute/switch off with the jack and not set 2.

I have plugged the speakers in the other outlet and it has solved the issue, i had the speakers plugged in to the bottom outlet and i have moved them to the top, should both not be working? Sorry for my ignorance!

Speaker set 1 is for speakers in the same room as the Beomaster - mutes at the Beomaster.
Speaker set 2 is for speakers in other rooms (link system) - mutes locally at the link boxes.
