Hi,

I am eagerly awaiting my 5.1 Beolab 14. I do not have a B&O tv but will be using a Sony STR DN1050 receiver. I understand that the speakers will come with its set of cables but  will appreciate if someone can clarify if I need to buy specific cables to work with the AV receiver?

Many thanks

BL14 has speaker level inputs and line level inputs. I believe it is sold with a speaker> DB style cable, so you should be able to hook it up to just about any receiver with speaker outs. If your receiver has preamp outs, you could use those instead, but you'll require an RCA to RJ45 style breakout cable. The preamp output is arguably a better way to connect it (you don't have the added distortion of running the signal through the receiver's own power amp, having it be attenuated and then re-amplified in the BL14.)

Hope that helps.

Thanks for your prompt reply. I had a look at the back and as far as I can tell from the images the STR DN1050 does not have preamps out. So it looks like I will not be needing any additional cables. Big Smile
