I have spoken with him on the phone once. Pretty serious dude. He has even reconfigured the ir-receiver, so that if you press audio on the key ring, it will start playing a cd.

But prices, damn Surprise

Am I the only one who can't find any clickable hyperlink on their Home page? :)

No information whatsoever apart from three "project pictures" that are displayed in cycle.

No, I couldn't either.  A complete waste of a website!  No contact details as far as I could see.

Dave.

Looks like the registrar of this site is from Saarbruecken-Germany. I won't mention his name here.

Go to www. Priesnitz.org and have a look on his projects Unsure

He is the one, who made that website?

In that case I am not a future costumer of his.

I know their website sucks. Beophile had an article about the company and provided a different link which contains contact info:

Beophile article:

http://beophile.com/?p=22550

I slightly better homepage with contact info:

http://opus.org/highend

Beolab 8000 MK II, Sennheiser HD 800

Hi Banix,

thank you, quite nice link to Beophile.com ,which i wasn't aware.

It looks like Opus is just another dead hobbyist project...as always: if it sounds too good to be true..it probably is.

Why?

If someone makes such a (non-working) website, would you recommend him to someone else???

Yes, slightly better Crying

A pretty, pretty homepage - without much info, but with the usual highend bla, bla.

By the way - what the Opus guy/guys does/do with the Ouverture, is not new - I read about it already some years ago.

But I must confess, that I'd like to know a bit more about the two other 'projects' mentioned.

Do not be fooled as a customer by this guy. He is running 10 websites of different flavour and does nothing else then promoting, doing consulting work and selling air. As MM says lots of bla,bla...

Hi all,

I am from opus.org...

At the moment we need all our men power to rebuild all sent systems, so we have worked by far to less

at our homepage, sorry for that... The main aspect of our business is to rebuild classical B&O systems (it is not the marketing,

if we want to do so, we should build a better website, send advertisers, hire marketing people, and all this stuff) -

We are just a group of engineers,

who really love the classical design of Jacob Jensen and the golden era of B&O (hope, there will we a 2nd one:-) For that dream,

to renew these systems, we rebuild all internal components by our self  (new user interfaces, new graphic cards for the internal displays,

new 24bit soundcards, new power transformators, ...) to get extraordninary systems - in look, operation, and sound quality (by far superior

than anything else from B&O).

Greetings from Germany

Michael (opus.org)

But you must admit that a good and working website is the easiest way to draw attention to your work for new costumers.

Yours is predestinated to force people to take the run!

Nowhere else we can get real information - not just bloomy words?

Tell us how these mods work - what we can do with them etc.

I totally agree with your concerns, but please note that we have had a full working webpage, but now - we get a complete

new one - we had run in some trouble in the last weeks (ALSO NOTE THAT THE PICS ARE AGAIN CLICKABLE, SO

ALL INFOS FOR THE OUVERTURE REBUILD ARE ON THE OPUS PAGE).

I am not allowed to talk much about the beocenter- this is a new phantastic project to build a complete new HD music

and video server (so we replace the whole internal electronics of the BC including a new touch controller for its classic

touch interface. There is also a webserver included which produces a website of small clickable posters of all your music and

videos, you find these systems in high class hotels - Kaleidescape is the most famous one). We have here 6 demo units already

and just started to make some prof. pics (more infos to come...)

That might be very interesting to some of the Beoworlders.

In a recent thread there was a discussion about, what a modern BeoCenter could be like:

'Wouldn't you purchase one?'

http://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/14566.aspx

Of course there are different (rather different) views on this subject, but I am sure some of the Beoworlders might be interested in knowing more about this mod.

Could you provide a short info or - better - an external source with more details.

Does it exist or is it just a 'project'?

Edit! Sorry - I just saw that you already have commented on this above Embarrassed

It would be nice to see a video of the working system because Adobe Premiere or After Effects is tougher to use than Photoshop. Big Smile

But joking aside: I'm very curious to see what you've done and how as the old Beocenters or Beosound are still looking good.

- Are the converted systems still controllable with B&O remotes?
- Did you keep the mechanics (sliding CD-/Tape-doors) on the Beocenters?
- Did you rebuild the touch sensitive glassplates with the required modern touch fields (like e.g. "Menu" or "DVD / Bluray") etc.?

So please give us more information, photos and videos. Smile
