Hello everyone

I own the BeoSound 5 (the old one) along with a Beomaster 5 but I have a problem with the laser pointer that you control with the small metal slider. It is sort of "lagging" when I move it. It is hard to explain but imagine it getting stuck in the middle of the screen sometimes, even though I move the metal slider up and down. I can always "reset" movement by moving it all the way to the top.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I'm not sure if it is a hardware or software issue. It might have started after I tried to install Airplay receiver software on the BeoMaster 5 (it didn't work and now I can't uninstall it).

Ideas? Maybe a reset? (but how?)

I've noticed this before, and it's always temporary. It's seems similar to when a computer is slow in responding to keystrokes or mouse movements when the spinning wheel or hourglass is showing computer activity. I've especially noticed this when the BeoSound 5 is performing a lot of MOTS calculations. Did you perhaps recently add a lot of music to your BeoSound 5? If so, your BeoSound 5 might still be performing MOTS calculations. This can take hours to days to complete.

To me...it is either the lots of MOTS calculations or the hard drive is near-full/just too slow.

Depending up on your inclination, I would state that cloning your existing drive to a 1Tb Velociraptor 3.5inch drive (actually it is 2.5inch in a inch heat sink) will solve your problems and be compatible with WinXP

Is there a SSD disk in the market that can be used for the BM5?
