As part of a recent haul I purchased two pairs of Beovox 12-2 with additional cabinets.  One pair went into a studio flat in Highbury which had a large column blocking the centre of the room, so they were ideal for directing the sound either side of the column to the sitting area.  Reasonably good, no worries there.  My query relates to the use of the ply wall cabinet, which came as part of the package and is referred to as a wall cabinet.  Although not suitable for the last installation given the lack of ceiling space, if it makes the 12-2 more voluminous (right word?) in a wall, surely the same principle must apply in a ceiling void?  Has anyone got any experience of using the wall cabinets?  Basically an approx 100 cms long by 40 cms wide by 8 cms deep box with conventional speaker input and output terminals at top and bottom, unsure of even how much extra they are!  Thanks

By the way I did use Google! but information is lackIng, I think the new B&O website is very poor and riddled with errors too, as it is a Sunday morning I would welcome and posts.  On the invoice it is listed as p/n 1602900 FIREPROOF BACK BOX FOR BEOVOX 12-2 @ £65, I assume one box drives a speaker pair although am unsure presently

The box (In Wall Cabinet for BeoVox 1 / BeoVox 2-1) is intended to be used for ONE speaker!
To be mounted inside the wall /ceiling and covered by gypsum plasterboard to get sufficent
depth required by the speaker. Has to be modified for a BeoVox 2-2 being mounted "flat"

Many Thanks

What concerns me is that in the £51000 package I bought there were two pairs of Beolab 2-2 and one pair of these cabinets - unless there are two in a box!

Should 2-2's always be used with this cabinet and do you have any experience of the sound improvement?  Assuming it it a sound improvement!
