Hi,

I'm new to this forum and forums in general.

I've been at sea for some years and returned home and wanted to hear some music on my year 2000 BeoSound 4000, I bought it in the US of A. Does not seem like 15 years ago, time goes so fast.

Anyway, out of the box, up on the wall, it powers up, radio works but the CD refuses to do more than click and spin a bit, the tape deck does not work either. I've taken it to my local B & O service tech. No spares available and he can't fix it. I'll collect it tomorrow. Also big static bang through the speakers when I change from radio to CD to tape deck etc.

Anyone got any ideas where I can get it fixed, or where I can get spares. I'm not happy about opening it myself as I've no space or if I'm honest no talent at this kind of work.

Any help gratefully received.

Thank you for your time.

Regards all,

 Charley

Hi, big welcome to the Beoworld.

Where is your hometown, some members of the forum can fix the problems.

It's not a big thing to fix it, the age of your BeoSound is crying to get some new belts for the tape and a new laser perhaps a new CD-unit; that's it what you need.

But be careful, don't use the CD anymore, because the damage of the unit can be increase.

Sorry of my poor english

Hi Ingo,

thanks for your speedy reply, I've put the unit back in the box. No further damage possible I hope.

I'm based in Spain, Illes Balears.

Don't worry about your English.

Always remember: if someones English is not to good, it is because they speak another language fluently.

Not may Brits can boast a second language.

Regards,

 Charley.
