Dear all,

I'm sure that there must be a list of the latest version for various beovision models somewhere, but I seem to be unable to find it. Apologies if this info is readily available, but I have a beocenter 6-26 running AP SW 9.5 and wanted to check if there is a more recent version out there? It seems my set will not respond to the navigation buttons on my new beoremote one. My old beo4s are of the pre central 'navi' controller type and just have a 'go' button; I assume a more recent software version would support the 'navi' functions and therefore the beoremote one navigation keys (at least that is my impression from the beoremote one manual where it shows the beo4 key mapping). Many thanks for any help and advice

Luke

Hi Luke,

as far as I know only BV7, 8 and 10 and Beosystem 3 can be updated to work with BeoRemote One and latest Beo4 with navi button. With this software update you can choose in setup menue whether you use a Beo4 with or without navi button. If you set it to 'Beo4 with navi button' it will also work with BR One.

Hello Räuber,

I recently bought a navi version of the beo 4 and just found out my beosystem 3 does not have the menu entry for the remote choice....

How much will a software update cost and how is it done?

My info via service menu / monitor:

06 IC3 AP SW10.05a

06 IC2 IOP SW22.00a

Thanks!

Ralf

Hello Ralf,

the software update of your BS3 can only be done by dealers, it will take about 15 minutes. The charged costs will of course also depend on the distance of your dealer.

Dear Räuber, many thanks for the reply; I accidentally put BC2 rather than BC6 in the subject, but from your previous reply it sounds like it will not work with my setup. I'll see if I can work around with my Lintronic box, but looks like I'll be returning the BR1. Shame as I really like it!

Hey Luke

Before you return the BR1 do this on the remote:

LIST > Settings > Advanced > Products > Show > Beo4 Video

This will make the BR1 work as a Beo4 when selected in LIST

BeoVision 11-55, BeoCenter 2, BeoLab 9s, BeoLab 3s, Beo4/5/6, BeoRemote One, BLGW, Transmitter 1, BeoLit 12, A8, H6, H8

Before returning the remote, try this (on remote):

LIST > Settings > Advanced > Products > Show > Beo4 Video

Now under LIST you have the Beo4 option and the remote will work as a Beo4 (don't know if the navi buttons work correctly as it's working as the navi Beo4)

The latest software for your BV6-26 is 10.11a released March 2011 so well before the navi button feature

BeoVision 11-55, BeoCenter 2, BeoLab 9s, BeoLab 3s, Beo4/5/6, BeoRemote One, BLGW, Transmitter 1, BeoLit 12, A8, H6, H8

Oh and here's the official B&O response to using BR1 with older products:

BeoRemote One is compatible with the Beo4 remote in general, with some exceptions.

BeoRemote One is optimised for TV’s that support the navigation button. For older TV’s that do not support the navigation button, menu navigation must be done using P+ for UP, P- for DOWN, long press on BACK for stepping back and PLAY to select.

Products in Option 4 - for instance an extra television or audio system in the main room - must be operated using the "Beo4 Link" control instead. This is similar to the latest version of Beo4.

BeoRemote One only has one VIDEO configuration based on the Beo4 “VIDEO 5”.

BeoVision 11-55, BeoCenter 2, BeoLab 9s, BeoLab 3s, Beo4/5/6, BeoRemote One, BLGW, Transmitter 1, BeoLit 12, A8, H6, H8

That's correct and you can also use WIND >> and REWIND <

But this is absolutely not convenient to use BR One this way, because you can't use the arrow buttons and the centre button of BR One anymore. That's why B&O only describes replacing Beo4 with navi button by BR One, replacing Beo4 without navi button doesn't make much sense if the Beovision doesn't support the navigation button.

HardCopy:

Products in Option 4 - for instance an extra television or audio system in the main room - must be operated using the " Beo4 Link " control instead. This is similar to the latest ve rsion of Beo 4.

This also belongs to Beovisions in linkrooms if you want to remote the Beovision in main room.

You always have to change on BR One the Beo4 product type if you want to remote a link product. After this you have to change product type again if you want to remote the main product. With Beo4 you can simply use LINK command, but LINK is NOT available under LIST on BR One.

Same problem if you want to start a Beovision in audio mode with AV command. You have to change BR one to 'Beo4 audio' mode because AV command is also not available under LIST.

And you will miss many other commands under LIST on BR One, e.g. AV-LINK.

At the end of the day you realise that it's not a good idea to replace a Beo4 with a BR One if you have a masterlink system with linked products, even if you have a Beo4 with navi button. BR One was designed for the new netlink products, for masterlink products Beo4 is still the best remote, that's for sure!

Hey everyone- thanks for all your help. I spoke to my local B&O service engineer and it appears I can get a software update on the beocenter 6-26 for use of the most recent beo4 or beoremote one. For reference the type number of mine is 9282. I'll report back when the upgrade is complete!
