Last night a migrated my Dell XPS M435 from Windows 7 Pro to Windows 10 Pro .,

BeoPlayer, the software package, isn't working anymore. It doesn't make a Share for my  BeoMedia 1

Tried everything but no success. So went back to W7

Any suggestions?

I had the same problem when I migrated from Windows7 to Windows8.1 some time ago.

Ron,

I just found the solution.

If BeoPlayer is installed, remove it first.

Re-install BeoPlayer and point out you have a BeoMedia. The install will ask you twice for the proper Firewall settings. After that the BeoMedia is located. (Be sure you have the correct password).

The "log-in" with your username and e-mailaddress will fail, both on W8.1 and W10

Expect that you have to enter the same info after reboot. Use the SKIP button instead USERID and E-Mail.

The BM_SHARE$ is now made and working.

Since long Windows allow to run programs in a compatibility mode, so in W10 run as W7 etc.

Go to the "beoplayer.exe" file; right click; choose compatibility; the rest is strait forward ...............
