Is there a B&O remote control unit that will work with a Beomaster 2400.2 that has a TAPE function?
I assume that this early original remote is unique to the Beomaster 2400.2 and that all subsequent remotes are incompatible.
I only ask because I so thoroughly enjoy my Beomaster 2400.2 and corresponding Beogram 4004 with their remote capability that it would be fantastic if I could get the BM 2400.2 to select my Beocord 8004.
Sure, this is probably another stupid question, but let’s assume for one moment that there IS a remote that would work, the stupid thing would be not to ask the question in the first place.

No.The Beomaster doesn't support "remote control" for Beocords and there are no compatible Beocords either.

The 2400 only has a 5 pin DIN connection for the Beocord and it uses a very primitive language compared to Datalink. The Beomaster 4500 has similarities in looks and is more advanced with communication - the Beocord actually is the same height, unlike the Beocord 2400. Or go for a Beomaster 6000 or 8000 and match the Beocord you have. I do like the 2400 though - my first B&O!

Thanks Martin and Peter.
I was 99.999% sure that would be the case. Doesn’t take away in the least the “cool” function of the Beogram 4004, but just to be able to select the Beocord would have been nice.

I f you think about it it is not a bad thing, you will have to leave your chair once in while, not to speak of less blisters on your fingers, at least you can use the remote to manage volume, and change to Radio or Phono if wanted when the BC is playing, some of BCs will power off by itself after tape end.
Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.
Good grief Søren, you are BAD! BAD.
The real benefit of the 2400.2 remote control is that I don’t need to touch the aluminum “buttons” on the Beogram 4004, which discolor with usage over time. As mentioned previously I “cheat” by using a cloth which avoids any contact with the oil on our skin. However with the remote I don’t even have to touch the dustcover, just press P and away the 4004 goes like magic.
And yes indeed, the Beocord 8004, delight unit that it is, turns itself off after a bit.
