Hi folks, nice to be here.

So, thanks to the joint miracles of depreciation and ebay, I am enjoying cool stuff that was just impossible-dream territory for me 10 or 15 years ago. Like my £18K 911 Turbo Smile

Anyway, after lusting after similar kit in the now defunct local B+O showroom a decade ago, I have managed to collect the basics from ebay, to finally bang and olufsenise my living room and adjacent study: Beocenter 2300, 2 x Beolab 6000, Beolab 3500, and an ML converter plus mk1 Beo 4, to make them all talk to each other. And an LC2 light dimmer - see separate question.

My plan is to make the 2300 the center of operations and add turntable, iPod and DAB via aux in and one of Steve's nice 4 way aux splitters.

So,  I would like to add a compact unit that can can handle DAB and streaming, that is reasonable quality but not audiophile price level. I have done some searching and have found it all very confusing, with DA converters and Raspberry Pi's and so on, but not much B+O compatible stuff.

I need something with a screen as I am not using any AV with this system, but not something with speakers obviously. Can anyone recommend something as I expect others have trodden a similar path? Would be cool if Beo 4 could control it too..

Thanks in advance

Johnny

Welcome to Beoworld!

Personally I have used a Roku/Pinnacle streamer via the aux/ tape input and currently use an Olive One. There may be a Roberts unit that will also give you DAB although I don't know whether it has a line out.

Be aware that the BBC have changed their streaming and not all radios/ streamers can receive the new output. I am currently awaiting feedback from Olive about this...... the BS5 may have the same problem. This might be the only reason to look for a DAB output!

Many thanks Graham. Looks like for my needs I am looking at a digital streamer like the pinnacle, and probably a separate wireless connection to take spotify off of a phone or laptop.

Both in one would be nice but probably out of budget - like Olive products, thanks for the link, what lovely kit!

Thanks for the heads up about the BBC streaming, I'll do a bit of research. If I can't get 6music then I'm not playing!

Cheers
