Seanie_230:Hi Dave cheers When I take him off the wall it's still very tough.
When I take him off the wall it's still very tough.
That's not right then is it? Has it been OK before or has it always been stiff to turn? As I say, mine's effortless and silky smooth. This stiffness problem has been raised in another thread I think but seemed to be isolated. It will still be under guarantee so I'd take it to your dealer and get him to look at it. A rogue bit of dirt or dust may be the cause and a simple procedure may clear it.
Dave.
Maybe it doesn't like your taste in music and is being passive aggressive about it?
Jeff
I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.
Afternoon all
I spoke to my dealer today and he ordered me a new one as per the recall procedure.
Does anyone know what this happens on what happens if it happens again after the warentee runs out.
thank you
You can take apart the remote and remove a rubber gasket that surrounds the wheel. It is most likely already wrapped around the wheel and ground into it preventing the wheel from moving freely. If your dealer allows you to keep it, you can remove the gasket and it will spin freely again and be able to use it once again without issues.
Ah, you know... A little B&O here, a little there

Will it rotate with the same resistance as originally intended or is it very sensitive/loose after removing that rubber gasket? Are there pictures/videos of the Essence innards?
It should rotate looser than originally intended. Some like it more, some like it less. I have seen a few that maintain their factory level of resistance, but most likely due to the fact that there was rubber gasket still stuck somewhere in rotation.
Seanie_230:Well my replacement is ordered. This will be fun until the next time it locks up.

You shouldn't have anymore troubles. Production has corrected the issue. Take apart your current remote, remove the shredded gasket and enjoy a secondary remote. :)
