Whatever B&O is working on for the next-gen V1, this new Samsung-TV will cause some headaches I think. Very curious which materials are used and how it feels in the flesh.

Almost nice but not! Just something about it doesn't look right but I'm not sure what.

A very good effort though and I am sure a lot of people will like it. Always good to see companies moving away from the normal look.

There are two videos on Youtube - 'Samsung Serif' - if you please.

The Bang & Olufsen products are made as a cooperation between designers and several groups of engineering people, which may be a long process.

Seems to me, that the Serif is a very design-orientated product - did not hear of any techs involved.

But a fresh offer in a world of faceless (frameless) tv's, anyway.

It's a lot cheaper than I thought it would be from £600.

The remote whilst nice is kind of dated now with buttons after the new Apple TV remote. Having that track pad really makes sense when so many people are used to track pads and swipe functions of their smartphones/ipads.

I think that the V1 replacement will be far nicer than this!

I think Samsung had a remote with trackpad, motion sensing and voice control in 2014, - not sure why it wasn't further developed!

Ban boring signatures!

Interesting TV, I like it being different than everything else! Not sure about the overall form, but I do like the backside.

Now let's hope the tech part is decent enough.

On another note: Will there even be a V1 replacement?

Off topic, I know 😏

The 'trackpad' on the new ATV remote is just up/down, left/right and activate (go), as far as I have understood it.

Not really anything 'swipish' about that (and nothing we can't do with a Beo4/Navi).

Ir reminds me of a white BV8 but without the speaker thing at the bottom. Yeah, it's kinda bizarre! Not sure people want a TV as furniture anymore

samsung reported loses of $44 billion in value over a five month period from April 2015, maybe they are looking for new mojo...

we tend to forget there is more to design than designing.

My 2012 Panasonic VT plasma came with two remotes, one a traditional one, and one smaller one for navigating the "smart" functions which had a few buttons and a large touch pad, round, at the top you swiped and used as a mouse. Nothing really new, it worked well but I don't use those functions enough to keep it out on the table.

Oh, and my Logitech Harmony One has swipe control for things like volume, channel, etc. that I never use either.

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus. Sad

Thanks MM

I remember very well this video when the BeoVision 8 was launched.

Like David Lewis said is a real sculpture.

I like it ! Why not to relaunch it ? Smile

It will perfect in the BeoPlay range.

It was so elegant in white.

The image was natural and the sound was amazing with the woofer integrated.

Come on BeoPlay ! Big Smile
