Hello All!
I had an earlier post about this problem, but it has been deleted - who knows why...
So, my Mk.1 Avant TV - VCR, type 8111 - has some real strange bugs.
When I got it, it worked nice, for more than one year.
Then, more and more often, it has slowed down. It would not respond to the remote (BL1000) at once, maybe minutes later.
After switching on, it had normal operation for about 2 minutes.
After that some deflection problems occured, so I recapped the whole PSU and deflection board with new electrolyte capacitors(105 degree low ESR), except the two big caps(100uf 385V, 150uF 425V).
Sice then picture problems are over, but the time-lag mode stayed.
The clock functions normally, small red display becomes more lit when recieving commands, but lags.
Since recap the problem appears earlier, after a minute.
If you manage to switch the TV off, and then on again, it wont start everytime.
You hear flyback starting, then off, flyback again, then off, flyback third time and 4 colours appearing in the center of the CRT - red, green, blue, and in the middle white - for a blink.
If it starts for lets say the second time, motorised stand turns, 10sec curtain out, no tuner function(so black and white dots), and later tuner starts, program appears.
Testing the TV, once i could enter the menu when it lagged, and all items have been displayed twice.(timer record, timer play, TV list, Sat list, setup) so i had 10 menu points.
Once it happened, that the channel has been displayed like TXT overlay mode. Random characters displayed on the two sides of the display, not in color, but overlayed, I have seen the programme in the letters.
There is no masterlink interconnection with oher devices, VCR unit has been removed for narrowing down problem location.
Where do I have to start?
Reseating the eeproms could resolve the problem?
Can it be some XTAL clock, or LC part frequency problem?
Or any other ideas, suggestions?
Hope it's a simple problem and somyebody had it before.
Greetings
Zsolt (Hungary)
