Hi all,

I have a BeoSystem 7000 with a pair of Beolab penta, can I use the penta to listen  the Beolab 7-40 without disconnect them from BeoSystem?

Please can someone tell me if possible?

Thanks

Yes. You ned the masterlink to master control link converter.

Or do you already have it?

"You think we can slap some oak on this thing?"

Look for Beolink Converter 1611 on the net. Download a masterlink handbook pdf and read through it, you will get all the details there. And search this forum, too Smile

Hi there, yes it will work. As others have said you need a 1611 converter (can be picked up quite cheap on eBay). You connect the converter to the Aux datalink socket on the beomaster. Then you need a masterlink between the converter and the beovision. If you want to connect your speakers to the TV and have no speakers connected to the beomaster (e.g. If they are going to live in the same room with all sources playing through the TV) you'd also need a powerlink cable between the converter and beomaster, but that doesn't sound like it's the case here. Check the manual for the appropriate options settings for the beovision and beomaster. Good luck!

I tried a similar setup for a while but in the end prefer having the Pentas connected to the Beomaster, as I listen to music 90% of the time and watch TV only about 10%.

You only need the power link cable between the converter and the Beomaster if the speakers are connected to the TV (Opt 2) and you want to use a two-way remote (Beolink 5000 / 7000) with the Beomaster in (Opt 0). My understanding is the Beomaster receives the two-way commands, translates them into Beo-4 commands and transmits them to the TV via the Powerlink cable. Your Beomaster needs to have the latest firmware for 2-way option 0 to work. If you only use a Beo-4, or have the speakers connected to the Beomaster (opt 1), you don't need the extra cable.

Grazie a tutti per le Risposte.

Vorrei lasciare un le pentas Connesse allo stereo (Ho un Beolink 7000), se ho capito bene, devo utilizzare un Convertitore ML / MCL.

In this modo, funziona la Visualizzazione Pentas CORRETTAMENTE?

Grazie per your time.

Ps. Chiedo a tutte QUESTE Domande, Perché vorrei Comprare la tv, ma non vorrei Perdere in qualita del Suono e la semplicità d'uso di tutto il Sistema.

Thank you all for the answers.

I would leave the pentas connected to the stereo (I have a Beolink 7000), if I understand well,  I must use a converter ML / MCL.

In this way, does the pentas display work properly?

When I turn on the TV,  must I also turn on the stereo to hear the sound?

What is the remote control that I need to use for the TV (Beo4)?

And finally, when I listen to the stereo, the audio quality is unchanged?

Thank you for your time

Ps. I ask all these questions, because I would buy the TV, but I would not lose in the sound quality and in the semplicity of use of the whole system.

Hello Brian, I'm sorry but I did not understand if you have tested the configuration: pentas connected to the BeoSystem using the converter to connect also the tv. In this case, when you listen to music with the BeoMaster you notice a worsening of the sound?

Thanks

Hi Orfeof - you should not experience any deterioration in sound quality - the amps in the Pentas are still used. Whether or not the stereo is on or not when you use the to depends on how you set it up. If you want the Pentas connected to the Beomaster then yes, the stero will turn on when you activate the to and sound will come out of the Pentas. As suggested take a look at the masterlink manual as there are diagrams of various set up options and details of the option settings you need.

im confident the system will work the way you want if you get a 1611 converter - I have pretty much the same set up. Good luck!

No, you need the 1611 converter - which converts Datalink to Master Link and vice-versa. The ML / MCL Converter is a different unit that contains an amplifier and is used for connecting a newer audio source Masterlink to an older MCL - multi-room setup.

Hi everyone and thank you for the answers.

Just a last question (have you patience) using the converter 1611 with the correct set up, when I turn on the TV are the BeoMaster and pentas automatically turned on,  is the sound directly controlled by the TV's remote control ?

Best Regards
