Hello, I'm a new member, and trying to sort out an issue with a recently purchased Beo 4600.

The tone arm does not lower and lift at the start and end of a record. I can't see any mechanism that would cause it to move vertically on and off the record. The service manual does not have any instructions for this that I can find. Currently, at the end of the record, the arm skates over the record surface as it returns to its rest position--not good for records.

Please can anybody suggest a solution or adjustment?

Thanks

That's interesting as I have discovered the same issue on a 4600 I recently acquired. Did you ever solve the problem?

Yes, the lifting mechanism seizes up. I found this reply      http://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/showthread.php?t=103640   and it is all OK now.

A bit fiddly, but nothing too difficult.
