Hi Claudiu,

Is the Beogram not 7 pins rather than 8?

First check whether the two 'extra' pins can be unscrewed as this was common for Beogram turntables. The two 'extra' pins will look slightly different to the other pins if this is the case.

Failing that you could make a 7 pin socket to 5 pin plug lead with a 1:1 mapping - just missing out the two datalink connections.

The last issue is whether the Beomaster 1000 has a RIAA pre-amp built in (I suspect it does, but I haven't checked), as I believe the BG3500 also has a pre-amp built in. This means you will not be able to connect it to the Phono / Gramaphone input on the BM but you should be able to connect it to the TAPE input if this is not already being used.

Some of the vintage experts here should be able to confirm some of these details but hopefully this info will get you started.

Kind Regards,

Martin.

The BG3500 has a pre-amp (RIAA) built-in.  The BM1000 is designed to be used with either a TT with or without an RIAA, you just need to connect it to the correct Gramophone  input as there are two.

The Gramophone button that looks like a QI rather than QII needs to be depressed and the input on the rear needs to be the right hand gramophone input as you look from the rear (number 20 in the user manual).

Unscrew the Datalink pins which have a small slot on them and take good care of them - don't lose them and the plug should fit OK then.

Dave.
