penta speakers blowing 2amp fuse

hello all, i have a pair of penta speakers and one has now broke, when music goes into the speaker it blows the 2 amp fuse?, anyone know how i can fix it, i have a soldering iron/ digital multimeter and a transistor checker and willing to get stuck in, any help would be greatly apptreciated, cheers

Hello,

in that case, the fault can be everywhere, beginning from the power transformer (where the 2A fuse goes to), over rectifier to the power output-transistors (I would bet on those) or even speakers ( incl. crossover). Without skills the fault will be very difficult to locate. Keep in mind that this is a very powerful amplifier! Did you already disassemble it?

hello,  i tried the other amp of the other speaker and the speaker worked ok so was thinking the problem lies in the amplifier alone.  yes ive disasembled it, thanks for replying

Sounds like it's time to recap and replace the trimmers in the amplifier.

sorry about the late reply.....well ive changed the caps nd trimmers but it still blowing the 2 amp fuse, ive checked the power pack on another penta amp and that works good, also checked the big transistors and there ok too...not sure what to do next???,anyone got any ideas
