My current set up:

Beolab 18, 19 + 15 (ceiling mounted as rear speakers), 4000  in zone 2 - all connected wirelessly via transmitter 1 - connected to Marantz receiver.

I would very much enjoy adding a "moment" however, I was told that the only way this could work would be to connect the moment to my Marantz and assigning an input. This then would mean I would have to turn on the Moment and then turn on the Marantz.

This in my opinion would defeat the purpose and I might as well use the Deezer on my i-phone and air-play it via my playmaker.

Am I overlooking the obvious? Is there a way of connecting a Moment so that it was instant on like it is meant to be?Confused

Maybe an Almando switch would help.

If the receiver/preamp, that you are using, has 'autosense' on its line-in connection, this will work.

Your Marantz probably hasn't....

Actually, I'm scratching my head now.

Why using further the Marantz as a receiver, if your planning to buy the Moment. The Moment gives you all your older Marantz has, internet HQ radio, Deezer and the opportunity to connect line-in.

You have BL 18 + 19 included Wisa...

Probably because of the "4000 in zone 2" - as described above.

That is a feature of the Marantz.

it is not just about zone 2 which is important because the 4000's are in the dining room part of our " Great Room".

There is also my new high end Samsung TV - which is connected to the Marantz and also my Blue ray/CD which get fed into the Marantz and then via the transmitter 1 to the speakers.

I did note on the back of the transmitter 1 another place for "input", and not being a technical person I am wondering if the Moment was plugged into that and so, if the receiver is off the only source would be the Moment - but I am sure that is just wishful thinking.???

Thanks

One last piece that is important to know.

In addition to the speakers mentioned I utilize a Definitive Technology Center Speaker to generate a really nice 5,1 surround sound for which I need an av receiver because of lack of B&O TV.

How are the sound channels connected to the Transmitter 1?

And how is zone 2/BL4000 connected? Do you have a second Transmitter for that, or are they hardwired?

Note: anything connected to the input/s of the Transmitter 1 can only be heard on the speakers connected to that transmitter 1.

Marantz has a separate zone 2 pre-amp out which is connected to slot 3 on the back of transmitter 1. When I want to listen to music there I turn on zone 2 on the Marantz via their remote control - so no, there is no separate transmitter 1.

the 18, 15 + 19 are slots 1,2,4 and are connected to the pre-amps for the various inputs sources of music.

So, there is an important update and I want to specifically thank the team at B&O USA for creativity and testing.

The Moment can be connected with RC cable directly into the back of the Transmitter 1 and all speakers connected to Transmitter 1 will fire up.

If at any point you fire up the receiver, it will shut off the signal coming from the Moment - which has second priority.

As I have pointed out in my particular set up I have a second zone and if I did not want music to go there I would have to physically turn off the 4000 - not a big deal because they have on/off buttons.

The only other downside is that it would be impossible to have different volume in zone 1 and zone 2.

Net, net I am glad there is a viable alternative and I will now have to think if this is what I want to do.
