This new youtube video from B&O gives a nice (albeit basic) introduction to multiroom:

You can see the size of the a6 😣 think I might need a bigger spot to put one. but wouldn't you need the ml/nl converter for the 9000 to work?

Yeah, I discussed some of the new products with the owner of my local store a few weeks ago and it became apparent to me then that the A6 was much larger than I had imagined it based on the photos. This reminds me of the 3000 / 4500 / 5000 panel speakers which were much larger in the flesh than I had imagined they were from photos.

Indeed you would - I like the idea of having various legacy devices in a mixed setup but to fully integrate them all as individual products, as if they were netlink products, you do really need a ML/NL converter for each ML product. I'd really want a NL Beovision then and I'm not ready to replace my BV7 just yet.

Martin.

Martin.

Love it.

A bit more than "basic" - I think it covers all the functions ... except integration of home automation.

Seeing the app control of the 9000 made me wonder, has anybody controlled a Beosound 5 through the app? If so, what functions are available? All of the basic Beo 4 functions? More? Less?

I think all you'll be able to do is join other music.

Nothing serious.

That is what I thought also. But seeing in the video that the App could be used to start a CD in the 9000, it appears the App does allow some control of Masterlink products.

Great video

I have been saying it enough that B&O should do videos on how to use their products.  They did great user guide videos with the moment, and this introduction to beolink was another great step in the right direction - now to put that on their webpage too.

I have been reading beointegreation.com and looking at their other information on beolink and i still had questions.

Now after this video.  I have none.  It makes me want it now lol.

The BeoMusic app works with the BLC.

Through that connection you can issue MasterLink commands such as CD (if you configure them).

So for example in my system I can select CD and that starts my BeoSound 4's CD and the puts its audio out on the ML to all rooms and the BLC.

Then I can join the NL devices to that BLC/ML connection.

In the screen shots below the CD-2 indicates it is playing track 2 ...

Does that mean, that the BS4 /turns on the connected speakers as well?

Or can you start the playback in a NL-room only this way?

I would not want to 'disturb' somebody sitting in the room, where the BS4 is located, just because I want to listen to a cd in another room e.g. the BeoSittingRoom.

Asked differently: can you start an exclusive playback of a ML-source from a NL-room? Or can you only join in, when it is already playing there?

Not sure

I moved the speakers off the BS4 and onto the Essence

That's another test for another day

I would agree but given my rewriting won't happen for me

The video in Martin's post shows NL's ability with regard to audio information. Would NL also allow for video data to be shared within the NL-network, for instant between two B&O TV's?

No, there is no video distribution built into the beovisions now. Instead you can use an HDMI matrix.

Kind regards,

Martin.
