Hello there,

I have a Beocenter 2 connected to a Beovision 10 through a SCART cable, yet when I set DVD SCART output to RBG, I get a very blue/green picture. The color issue resolves when I set it to s-video (y/c) output, but of course the quality of picture is diminished. Any thoughts on how to resolve this?

Thanks

Maybe not all AVs / Scart-connections are capable of RGB. Did you try all scart inputs? I assume your cable is of good quality.

I have confirmed that the AV socket is RGB compatible with another DVD player, the DVD 1 which I have set to RGB (and Region 2 for Danish movies.)

The SCART cables I'm using work fine.

On further investigation, I found that the SCART protocol carries connections for both RBG and Y/C. It uses the same pin 15 for both signals (the suspected bad pin hence the blue/green picture). It carries the Red "up" signal when in RBG mode, and the Color "up" when in s-video mode. Since the s-video color signal works fine, it can't be a bad connection or faulty pin.

However, SCART can also switch over to component video with Y/Cr/Cb. I wonder if the BC2 is outputting RBG and the TV is trying to receive Y/Cr/Cb? Or vise versa?

Any thoughts on how to resolve?

Thanks
