Greetings from Switzerland.  I am still happily using my Serene phone every day since 2006. I use it for calls and SMS messages.  I continue to resist the purchase of a smart phone (if I want to access my emails on the road I can bring my iPod).

As I do not like wearing a watch I also use the Serene to tell me the time.  Last month we had the bi-annual time change.  As usual, I changed back the time on the Serene by one hour.

But a couple of days later it automatically reverted to summer time by putting the time one hour forward.  I put the time one hour back and changed the time zone.  But again a couple of days later it automatically reverted to summer time by putting the time one hour forward.  Whatever time zone I use the phone somehow always puts the hour to summertime within a couple of days.  Does anybody have advice on what could fix this issue?

Hello,

I also have a serene. I don't use it as regularly as you do, but as a land line replacement sitting in its handsome charging base with the Earset 2.

I have not had problems with the time zone changing, but have found in my software that the calendar won't go beyond January of 2016. I wonder how it will affect the performance.

Thanks Old Jack.  I have reset and will let you know in a few days time if this has fixed the issue.  Thanks.

Hello all.  Having re-set 2 days ago I have just noticed today that the Serene has automatically moved the hour forward again.  So the re-set regretfully does not do the trick.  Does anybody else have any proposals on how I can fix this issue?

I have never used a Serene but does it have automatic time and date update like most phones?

Perhaps have a look for that setting on the phone and hopefully you can switch it off.

Ben

I think I have cracked the problem.  When you first get the Serene you normally register it with the docking station.  It seems that the Serene's clock gets synchronised with the docking station's clock.  So when you have the change to winter or summertime on the Serene, you need to re-register it with the docking station.  Phew.
