I must say, if there is One device witch completily destroied my faith to electronics manufacturers ability (or willingnes) to produce good and reliable devices, it is DVB-recorder set-top box. And now I have to buy new one. Sigh.
Can I say, lucily B&O did not make one of their own...
blah-blah and photographs as needed
Most high street manufacturers are only interested in selling you something new every couple of years and no backward compatibility.
I can really recommend the Apple TV 4. Not sure what content is available on it in Finland in terms of traditional TV, but around these parts it's quite a lot. Don't need a DVB box for my TV needs.

And how is the audio and picture quality of the stream compared to the DVB broadcast?

There is a tv - and there is a BV

Mostly I use it to watch programs in more convenient time, only for free broadcasting. Last week I check Samsung DVB Blueray combo, but it has so bad timer, I returned it. Main problem with these is sucking software.
Still think that Dreambox and VU+ are the most up to date boxes.
IF you are into updating These yourself, lots of Plug-Ins etc.
Harddisk for recording, up to 4 Tuners

Trying to keep it simple ;)

In Denmark the Triax DVB boxes are often used.
Either via PUC or as B&O compatible version.
Unknown here, I will try HDThunder named box (Topform in other countries?)
I have used almost exclusively the built-in recording facility of my Sony W6 since I bought it two years ago. It has no problems with HD transmissions and it hasn't failed a single recording yet (except a few due to a bad signal before I replaced the broken antenna wall outlet). The pause function is great too.
The only problem is that you cannot watch another live broadcast channel while it is recording (just one tuner), but I have an external Kodi box for that.
I agree that most set top boxes suffer from stupid software problems. A lot of this is because the broadcasters can use different ways in arranging the EPG data, subtitling, and so on, and these can require all kinds of localized workarounds in the receiving end.
