Hi everyone.
Well I now have a fully functional BS9000 Mk1 following the replacement of the IR PCB. I have subsequently carried out a number of the tests including TM71 & TM73.
However there is a problem with the CD platter - it is scraping the underside of the CDs. I have ensured the suspension setting is correct for the unit to be laid flat on a table. I have also checked / adjusted the two allen screws that adjust the height of the clamper. These have no effect on the height of the CD drive motor / platter. Are there any adjustments that can be made that will alter the height of the CD platter / drive? I couldn't see anything in the service manual.
Thanks!
UPDATE:
OK - I eventually found a post on the forum after more digging that suggested it may be the rocker arm (part 9134) on the underside of the drive mechanism. I removed the arm and it wasn't quite flat across the back - so some gentle persuasion had it flat again and reinstalled. No more disc scraping
machineage:No more disc scraping
Well done !
Hi. I am the proud new owner of a 9000 and have noticed the scraping on CD in position 3. Also I have noticed that the CDS wobble when playing. Be interested to know if this is normal before I get out my tool box!Fraser
