The track point has broken off on my Beocom 2 Mk 1😢.

I can still move around the menus by pushing the little white nipple with a screwdriver but am wondering if there is anyone with a more elegant solution other than buying another phone.

Any ideas?

Plenty of broken ones on eBay and possibly with resellers.  Maybe you can swap out the control pad/front button assembly.  Have you tried a dealer/repair shop to see what they can do?

You could make your own round button with something like 'Sugru' form&fix which you mould to shape and will stick in place.  Available in a multitude of colours and useful for all sorts of things.

Great options.

I am going to try the Sugru because it looks like an interesting product anyway. I will post again after trying it to share my experience with others.

Thanks Dave

Wow, great news.  Post it to Sugru for inclusion on their list of uses.  They love to hear stories like this.  It's quite a quirky company.  Mine is still in the fridge!  Haven't used it yet.

Hi,

would you mind sharing photos of the Sugru-Joystick of your Beocom 2? How reliable is that Sugru, does the joystick still work?
