Hello!Right now i have a pair of CX100 and a Cona connected to my Beomaster 6500.I am pleased with the sound and level.I have been offered a good deal on a pair of used Beolab 8000.My living room is 50sqm so i think the CX100+Cona by now is a bit underspec'd for the amount of air.My listening position is ~5m from the CX100 with the Cona 2m away in a corner. Time after time i read that the Beolab 8000 lacks bass. At the same time i read that the Cona is pretty poorMy question is then:Am i going to miss the Cona?I am convinced that the Beolab 8000 is superior to my CX100 - but what about the bottom end? Since the Cona allegedly is not very good, and my ears are fine with the levels it produce.. Will i then be okay with the somewhat small amount of bass the 8000 delivers?Loudness is turned off on the Beomaster and i rarely play very loud (in case you haven't guessed that)
Just try it out - and make your further decisions from there.
You are the one, who knows the room and your listening habits/preferences.

I know that would be the best solution.But i hoped that there was someone in here that actually had heard both sets of speakers and could tell me a bit about the differences.
Buy the Beolabs!
I think you will prefer Sound and Looks....
If you don't do so: sell them.

As the other replies have suggested, it's a depends on the person. Everyone has ideaa of what level of bass is good. Having said that I have a pair of Beolab 8000 's and I can't imagine your current setup would be much better or if at all. 8000's sold so well not only because of their looks but also they deliver great sound!

As leosgonewild write, you can - if you please - still keep the Cona in rhe setup.

The CX 100s are good speakers in their own way, but you cant compare them to a pair of BL 8000, the Bls has more clarity all over, as for the bass you will have to test them to hear if they are up to your expectations, I have both pairs, and prefer the BLs,by a long way.

So i got the 8000 hooked upThe CX100 and Cona are more Bass and Treble oriented. With the 8000's the voices really punch through.As the treble in fact was a little harsh - i give the sqm the reason i like the soft sound of the 8000's. They are not going.I tried the 8000 with the Cona and the volume difference is too big for me to work. At the same time the Cona reaches very high ind the register which makes the bottom of the mids a bit muddy.The best solution would without doubt be the Beolab 2. If i am to keep the Cona in the system i would have to invest in a crossover, filtering the sub from the 8000 and the mids from the Cona and an seperate amplifier for the Cona so that the volume will match the 8000'sDoes anyone have experience in this?
