Afternoon all,

Recently moved house and when it came to setting up my trusty RF Avant with the Sky engineer, I noticed that the picture had become distorted around the top and bottom of the screen in on the left side. This distortion took the form of red/green/blue blurring.

We had experienced a pretty rough removals service and initially I thought the tube or the screen had been damaged by the removals men (I've moved 5 times in 6 years, so the set has been handled a lot). I was seriously about to consider binning it when I noticed I had set up one of my Pentas so it was really near the screen on the right side only...

To cut a long story short, when I rotated the TV on the stand back to position 0 (looks better in the room in this position, but not the optimum viewing angle from my preferred sofa) the distortion went away. As I plan to keep the Pentas in their current position, I can't really do anything about the distortion if I rotate the screen to my preferred viewing position.

My question is: if I keep the set in stand position 0 with no distortion, does this mean I'm not going to do the set any long-term harm based on the fact that the picture is fine and there are no ill effects from the speakers' magnetic fields in this position? I don't plan on moving it round again to induce the distortion - just want to know it will be ok if there are no symptoms leaving it where it is.

Apologies for the convoluted post!
