Hi,
My RX2 - not often used i admit - has started "oversteering", best word i can come up with.
Mechanically it's in great condition, sound is almost OK, but it oversteers when i turn up the volume.
The RIAA is an external noname and cheap, but has been functioning OK up until now.
Grounding between RIAA and the RX2 is likewise OK.
Tracking is adjusted to 1,5g as per the instructions in the manual (as it was before the problem occurred).
Any ideas ?
Cheers,

Suspension failure on the MMC5? Commonplace with old MMC cartridges but it can be rebuilt to as new (or in the case of an MMC5, made better by building to a higher spec such as an MMC2).
Dave.
Battery driven RIAA ?
Martin
Thanks Dave & Martin,
The RIAA is power driven but the "cheapest eBay" so i'll try to swap it as soon as i can get a hand on an upgrade - which was needed anyways.
I'll get back with a result, when i have swapped the RIAA, then we can discuss option(s) for rebuilding the MMC5.

Better late than....
Just wanted to let you know a new RIAA (from Sounds Heavenly) did the job.RX-2 then played fine for a couple of weeks, now another problem. I guess i'll have to open a new thread
