Recently bought 7000 but arm sets down too soon and misses beginning of record by a few millimetres. Are there any adjustments I need to make?

Aside from that it's stunning and loving this new format.

there are two settings, the first is at 45 single size and the second is for lp. If the first is also deadjusted, the setting must be done at the rope that is moving the tone arm.

It can be adjusted yes, it is all shown in the service manual..

But also make sure that the small plastic holder that holds the spring and wire is not broken. This can also cause this, so that need to be fixed first.. The holder is located on the sled and can be seen if you remove the platter and push the sled in.
