I have a big problem with sibilance on my beogram. Although the severity does change depending on the record it is always there, more than what could be considered "normal".
I took the BeoGram to a local B&O specialist and they said that there were no problems and in fact sounded "beautiful" when using it with their systems, which makes me believe there is a problem with my own setup. I currently use:
BeoGram 9000
Cambridge Audio 551P MM Phono Amplifier
Denon D-65 Receiver
Thank you in advance.
The first question: What have you changed in your setup that this behaviour occured?
Is the Beogram properly grounded?
Are all of your audio components on the same phase (of your current) if not sure - try a power distributor in one socket AND try to turn the power connectors - sometimes this is the secret . . . . ;-)
Could be the loading of the pre-amp. The MMC carts like an impedance loading of 100K ohms and no more than 150uf of capacitance. I believe your pre-amp has a much higher capacitance so it will sound harsh.
