I have used a BC2000 for several years to play back my  collection of tapes , no problem.
(The music is reproduced alternately through a BM1200, BM1700, a BM1900 and a BM2000, but by the way.) Never did I some recording with it this device.

Finally it came now to recording of some music that I did not have on tape, but the deck had the nerve to forsake me. When I touch  RECORD the red light does not appear nor is there any other recording reaction.

Anyone familiar with this failing and/or where to start the surgery ?

(On my BC 5000 recording was also blocked !

One is never too old to learn: the protection tab was not in tact: I was not aware of this.

The BC 2000 is now smoothly recording.

Thank you for your advice

Aad
