Hi all as the title suggests i have i believe a shorted component on my Mk1 BS9000 pcb 3 the initial fault was no -12v supply. a replacement of IC100 -IC3 -D18 and R157 partially restored some life.
i had the clock working normally and it would power on then attempt to opperate then shut down to standby on all functions eg CD Radio aux
NOW FOR THE CONFESSION! in a bid to prevent damage to the pcb i installed a sacrificial 5R6 resistor in place of R157 in case of a short unfortunatly the wire also connected with R304 the upshot is a BS9000 that just goes into a blinking standby relay click and blinking standby relay click loop any help on how to track down a short VERY much welcome... Failing that a working pcb Mk1 if avail obviously B&O dont have any on their system ive asked them.
BTW i have the Mk1 Service manual from this site but it seems a edited copy with no specific power supply schematics showing the various voltage rails for the Power supply only a block diagram power supply only supplying a partial assistance, its some help but only a tease if you see my point.
