have just been told that B&O have discontinued the bv 11 as of last Friday. Surprised this hasn't been posted already. Seems an odd decision but there are new products on their way soon.

As far as I'm aware, 11-40 and 11-55 discontinued. 11-46 still in the line-up.

Replacement expected to be announced in 4-6 weeks I think.

I was told this a couple of weeks ago so assumed it was common knowledge!

So I believe that whe'll have soon a 40" and 55" replacement and that the 46" size is dead.

My BV11-46 MKII (WISA and quick panel) made in Denmark is the last of the breed then.

Hope that the new 55" is a killer in term of design, sound and picture like the old one.

Could be that 46" will live on, but the bigger size will be OLED.

I have heard rumors for a trusted source that it will be a LG OLED panel, and that there will be a new Webmedia platform that is based on LGs Smart TV webOS platform. Hopefully with a B&O look and feel.

Good question, I'd love to know the answer. Allegedly from what I've read the worst ssue in longevity was the blue OLED in the Samsung type design, where they have red, green, and blue OLEDs. Supposedly the LG design using white OLEDs with RGB filters over the pixels is superior in both production yield and longevity, but I'm not sure just how long they are supposed to last.

LG quoted 30,000 hours for their top of the range UHD OLED TVs last year.

4 hours a day, that's just over 20 years.

Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.

Interesting. I think Panasonic was claiming 60,000 hrs for their last plasmas. I have a 10 yr old plasma that still looks fine, no idea what that translates to in hrs though.

10 years are 87600 hours if you have the set on all the time. 30.000 hours will last long if you have normal viewing habits. Smile

I was only told what we all know, i.e that there's a new one coming in March/April but that wouldn't probably be anything as 'small' as a 40 inch screen. I was also told not to expect anything much cheaper than the Beovision 11 which was a surprise as I was hoping for something nearer to the price of the recently departed V1
