Had a beovision mx 3500 in storage for several years. Turned it on and initially all was fine colours etc...

After some fiddling with digital remote and tv remote to store proper sound settings. The screen had a green wash.  In picture settings the tv reacted on brightness and contrast settings going up and down. But the colour settings did not react anymore ?

Does anyone know whats at fault ?

I tryed again to plug it in at the cable outlet at my own place and behold it was working fine ? So with some deduction i got to the same answer as you your reply stated, you were spot on. I changed my neighbour`s scart and it was fine.

I gave the mx to a friendly neighbour who has a digital box that only allows the signal to go into the scart av plug. So now she`s controlling the mx with her digital box remote.

Funny thing is that when you have the box go into av and you want to controle picture / colour on the link 1000 it does not respond ?  brightness and contrast does but colour doesnt. Reason I thought something was defect. How ever when I plug it into my cable outlet with analogue signal and plug into the antenne input of the MX ,the picture/colour setting is working fine ?

Any clue ? what``s the reason for it behaving like this ?

Problem is solved ,.......but the above question keeps bugging me.....

By the way i forgot how beautifull the MX was designed it looks the part at my neighbours house.

The combination of the cabinet lines design and a sort off smokey look glass and the subdued screen presence is gorgeous it even even tops our BC1 in looks I think.

Can you imagine the MX was build in 1992 ! and is still playing and  with its delightfull pressence still gives a smile to the next owner. Hope in the end she will let me know for how long it will keep on working. Are the max playing hours known for this television ?

I forgot the code to get into the service menu to have a look so if you know please let me know. So I can have a look how long it already has played.

Thank you for your quick respond Lee.

Another one has been exposed to the bug ;)

The reason for the colour control not working is that the telly is showing an RGB signal. This is normal.
